To ensure a Sunday night game and doubleheader games with playoff implications in Week 17, flexible scheduling decisions for that Sunday can be made on six days notice.

Theoretically, that means the Week 17 matchup between the Bengals and Baltimore Ravens at 1 p.m. on CBS could be flexed into primetime. That’s probably a likelihood if a scenario arises where that matchup determines the winner of the AFC North. The Bengals hold a 2-game lead over the Ravens at the moment.

Hopefully for the Bengals’ sakes, it doesn’t come down to that, as they still have a shot to eanr a first-round bye if they can surpass the New England Patriots for the AFC’s No. 2 seed.
