The Cincinnati Bengals held the San Diego Chargers to a mere 10 points on Sunday, and while the defense has gotten much of the credit for that, the leg of punter Kevin Huber ensured that the Chargers offense was always forced to driver the length of the field in order to put points on the board. He set career game-highs for gross punting average and net average, both 55.5, including a Bengals-record 75-yarder.
“It makes me want to have the best punt possible to give the offense the worst field position possible; our defense is that good,” Huber said. “It puts a little more incentive in me to help them out as much as I can. This year the thing is to have the best punt for the time of the game.
