Giovanni Bernard, RB (2nd-Round / 37th Overall)
Bernard has been simply outstanding in his rookie outing. A consideration for Rookie of the Year, Bernard has had an impact on Offensive Coordinator Jay Gruden’s offense that cannot be understated. One of the knocks against Bernard has been that his utilization comes through a ‘committee back’ approach to the position; see The Law Firm of BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Bernard.
The argument that splitting downs makes a player less of an impact is ridiculous. There are multiple receiver sets, right? Bernard will have to acclimatize his stability with his speed as he gets older in order to allow him to be a more physical, every-down back, but for this season, high marks are deserved nonetheless.
