As for linebacker Vontaze Burfict, he’s undergoing  the NFL’s concussion protocol after suffering a head injury on Sunday. The same goes for tight end Alex Smith

If Smith and Eifert are out Sunday, that leaves the seldom-used Orson Charles and Jermaine Gresham as the only TEs. Gresham played better than the majority of his games in  2013, as he caught three catches on three targets for 49 yards and a touchdown (averages 3-for-31 per game), but he still had a crucial fumble that led to one of the few Viking’s scores.

Despite spending a first-rounder on Eifert, the Bengals were expecting big things for this year from Gresham, but with those two splitting snaps at TE and essentially dividing their targets up (59 for Eifert, 66 for Gresham), neither has put up big numbers.
