Prev. Week
1
Denver Broncos
12-3
The loss of Von Miller hurts and makes this team vulnerable in the playoffs to any team that can slow their offense…but Manning has 51 TD passes – good luck slowing that train down.
2
2
Carolina Panthers
11-4
The Panthers have been proving me wrong all year-long – all the way to my #2 ranking. However, Steve Smith is the heart of this team and his loss could be devastating for this offense.
6
3
Seattle Seahawks
12-3
The 14 game home win streak (and the mystique) have been broken…by a QB that threw 4 interceptions nonetheless. Suddenly the Seahawks look vulnerable and have loss 2 of their last 3.
1
4
New England Patriots
11-4
Was NE that impressive or Baltimore that bad? Maybe both. The Patriots looked good and convincing on Sunday against the defending Super Bowl champs fighting for their playoff life.
8
5
Cincinnati Bengals
10-5
They may not enter the playoffs as a favorite, but no team has the combination of defense and offense that the Bengals have.
7
6
San Francisco 49ers
11-4
They are in the playoffs, but their offense is still a concern. Their defense looks tough at times, but is that a mirage? 24 points and 402 yards at home to th 4-11 Falcons?
5
7
Kansas City Chiefs
11-4
After a 9-0 start, the Chiefs have gone 2-4 since and seen their once potent defense drop to 23rd.
3
8
New Orleans Saints
10-5
Speaking of dropping, just 3 weeks ago the Saints were playing the Seahawks for the #1 overall seed. Now the Saints are clinging to a Wild Card birth.
4
9
Arizona Cardinals
10-5
If not for a last second loss in week 1 on a FG in Saint Louis and a poor officiated game in Philadelphia, the Cardinals would be fighting for the NFC West division and #1 seed. Instead, they are fighting for the #6.
9
10
Indianapolis Colts
10-5
After looking terrible for 6 straight weeks, the Colts have put together 2 pretty good games.
12
11
Philadelphia Eagles
9-6
They look like the class of the NFC East…that may not be saying much, but it will earn them a playoff birth. The offense is good enough to cause some problems.
15
12
San Diego Chargers
8-7
The Chargers are a team that no one wants to see in the playoffs. Rivers is playing great and Allen is becoming a legit NFL WR.
11
13
Miami Dolphins
8-7
After a few impressive wins, the Dolphins go to Buffalo and put up 0 points with the playoffs at stake and looked like anything but a playoff team.
14
14
Pittsburgh Steelers
8-7
Somehow they are still alive in the playoff picture and with Roethlisberger at QB, no team wants to play the Steelers in January.
17
15
Baltimore Ravens
8-7
With the playoffs on the line and playing at home the Ravens lost 41-7? Wow. Flacco now has 18 TDs and 19 INTs. Going into week 17, the Ravens have 0 impressive wins.
10
16
Chicago Bears
8-7
Injuries have depleted the Bears defense, but the offense is not producing either. 11 points with Forte, Marshall, Jeffrey and Bennett? Why was Cutler put back in over McCown?
13
17
Green Bay Packers
7-7-1
They blew the game against Pittsburgh, but thanks to the inept division known as the NFC North, the Packers could still win the division. If Rodgers plays, I’m taking the Packers.
16
18
Dallas Cowboys
8-7
They are ranked 18th with Romo. Without Romo they are likely bottom 7. The Cowboys needed to convert a 4th and goal from the 10 in order to beat the most expensive doormat – Washington.
19
19
Saint Louis Rams
7-8
The Rams look better with Kellen Clemens at QB than they do with Bradford. That is a problem when Bradford makes $17.6M and Clemens makes $870k.
20
20
New York Jets
7-8
I give up trying to figure out how this team wins, but give Rex credit, they have 5 more wins than I thought they would. Unfortunately, from an organization stand point, winning is probably the worst thing for this team – they are terrible and need better draft picks.
26
21
Tennessee Titans
6-9
The ghost of Jeff Fischer haunts the Titans. Even with him gone, they hover around .500. Good enough to get close, but not good enough to get anywhere.
21
22
Buffalo Bills
6-9
After playing possum most of the season, the Bills wake up and shut out a playoff team.
24
23
New York Giants
6-9
I’m not sure how you fire a 2-time Super Bowl winning coach, but the Giants look like they have tuned him out. Beating the Lions is no feat.
28
24
Detroit Lions
7-8
Well, at least Jim Schwartz wouldn’t classify this season as a disaster. I bet the Detriot fans would disagree.
18
25
Minnesota Vikings
4-10-1
After playing well 7 of the last 8 weeks, the Vikings looked like a 4 win team (at best) against the Bengals
23
26
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
4-11
If Schiano gets canned, I would think a lot of coaches would be interested in this job.
22
27
Jacksonville Jaguars
4-11
I can’t recall a team that started 0-8 and has been so competitive in the second half of the season (well, other than the 2013 Bucs).
25
28
Atlanta Falcons
4-11
An impressive showing in San Francisco, but with a chance to win the game, the Ryan threw a pick six. Pretty much par for the Falcons season.
30
29
Oakland Raiders
4-11
The Raiders want to take another look at Pryor…so would their opponents. If your organization is debating between Scott McGloin and Terrelle Pryor, the QB isn’t the only issue.
27
30
Cleveland Browns
4-11
The Browns look like they have given up. What was a very tough defense force 0 turnovers and allowed 422 yards against an offense lead by Geno Smith.
29
31
Washington Redskins
3-12
The Redskins have managed to make the Jets look like a stable organization.
31
32
Houston Texans
2-13
Can they end the year with 14 straight losses? If not for a 3 pt win in week 1 in SD and an improbable 2nd week OT win against TN, we would be looking at a team going for 0-16. Including the 2012 playoffs, the Texans are 4-17 in their last 21 games.
