But the team still reportedly doesn’t know if they’ll offer Zimmer their head-coaching job or wait to interview other candidates:
#Vikings met all day with Mike Zimmer Mon, are mulling their next move. Offer the job or interview another coach? Yet he’s still in town

Mike Zimmer is scheduled to fly back to Cincinnati tonight. We’ll see if he can do enough to wow the Vikings in order to stick around.

It looks as though it could go either way with Zimmer and the Vikings at this point, and even if the team doesn’t hire him, that doesn’t mean they won’t circle the wagons back to him later on after they’ve interviewed other candidates.
Again, the Vikings want to make the best hire possible, and if that means taking their time, then so be it.
