Notable Milestones

*Broncos head coach John fox s in his third season with the franchise and has led the team to three consecutive division titles for the first time in club history. Sunday will mark Fox’s second conference championship game (Carolina 2003) as a head coach and the Broncos’ first since 2005.

*With a win on Sunday against the Patriots, Fox will become just the sixth coach in NFL history to lead two different franchises to the Super Bowl.

*On the other side, with a win in the AFC Championship Game, New England head coach Bill Belichick (five) would join Shula (six) as the only head coaches to lead their team(s) to six Super Bowls.

*With a win on Sunday, Denver QB Peyton Manning will become the fourth quarterback in the Super Bowl era to lead the league in passing yards and TDs and also advance to the Super Bowl that season.

*However, with a win on Sunday, New England QB Tom Brady would surpass Elway for the most conference championship wins by a starting quarterback in NFL history.

*Last week, the Patriots became the 6th team all-time to reach 25 postseason wins, and Belichick and Brady (18) have the most postseason wins by head coach-QB duo

*The Broncos have a 14-4 (.778) postseason record at home, the 4th-best all-time (minimum 10 games) and is 6-2 all-time in AFC Championship Games.

My Prediction

This is the last chance Peyton Manning may ever have to defeat his nemesis for a chance to go to the Super Bowl. Tom Brady is looking to cement himself among the two or three best quarterbacks in NFL history.

But despite all the QB hype, this is a game that will see the winner determined by who runs the ball more effectively, and right now, the Patriots are running through whoever is unfortunate enough to be in their path.

Pats 24, Broncos 20
