So why can’t the underclassmen have an All-Star game of their own? Here’s an idea for one: No freshman or redshirt freshman allowed. It would be for the other draft-eligible players which would be red-shirt sophomores, juniors, and red-shirt juniors.

Guys like UCF quarterback Blake Bortles should get a chance to showcase themselves in an All-Star game in the same way the other senior QBs are getting to.

To date there are four college football senior All-Star games with one being for Division II and D-III schools. So we’ll say three games worthy of major NFL scouting with multiple prospects in each game.

These games are great for the seniors. It gives them more exposure and another chance to be noticed on a big stage against quality competition, but here is why the underclassmen need their own game.

Absolutely will likely happen in the very near future.
    1. The All Star games just have not caught up with the new eligibility rules. Having their own underclassmen game for those declaring for the draft would be a huge event.
    2. Having an Underclassman team vs a Sr team may generate even more interest.
    3. having one of the current 3 all star games invite the best players for the upcoming draft. Having both SR and Underclassman being invited could do that starting this year and get a jump of having the best players in the game regardless of their year of college.
    4. The NFL could also get the game in place this year and place it on their own NFL Network before anyone else can get it going. The NFL Network has very few live football games of any kind. This would be the biggest annual live event the NFL Network would have by far. It would also be among the biggest football events period each year.
It would be much bigger than the Pro Bowl they show the weekend between before the super bowl.
    A. It could be held in Hawaii with the Pro Bowl and shown the same weekend
    B. It could be held at the same site as the super Bowl the weekend before.
    C. NFL could have cities Bid for the game each year like the super bowl and held the weekend before.
