The Cleveland Browns may have been repeatedly turned down by head-coaching candidates this offseason, but they finally found someone willing to take the job, and it’s Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Mike Pettine:

According to multiple media reports, the Browns are set to meet with Pettine Thursday, and it could lead to him becoming their next head coach:

The Browns fired Rob Chudzinski earlier this month, days after the team finished 4-12 and less than a year after he was hired. That’s led to candidates being hesitant to take this job.

Broncos OC Adam Gase, Patriots OC Josh McDaniels and Cardinals DC Todd Bowles were just a few candidates who said “thanks, but no thanks” to the Browns.

Pettine had his first interview with the Browns last week and reportedly blew the front office away with his interview. He just concluded his first season in Buffalo after serving as Rex Ryan’s defensive coordinator with the Jets from 2009-2012.
