In an effort to recognize the unsung heroes of the NFL, USA TODAY Sports annually releases its’ All-Joe team, and last week, they did so for the 22nd year.
The All-Joe team consists of a 53-man roster, and has at least one representative from every NFL team. Only players who have never been named to the Pro Bowl are eligible.
That means you won’t see the likes of Vontaze Burfict, Andrew Whitworth or even Terence Newman on it.
But the Cincinnati Bengals did get two players on it, and the were free safety Reggie Nelson and nose tackle Domata Peko:
Domata Peko (Bengals): Veteran leader has quietly done the dirty work for a defense ranked in the top 10 each of the past three seasons.
Reggie Nelson (Bengals): Perhaps not the superstar first rounder the Jags once envisioned, Nelson has settled in as another unheralded mainstay of the top-shelf Cincinnati defense. He rarely misses a snap despite his hard-hitting style.
