The doldrums of the football year are clearly upon the general fan base.  As greater Bengaldom considers roster holes, cap numbers, and free agency daydreams, pay attention to some of the intangible indicators that will indicate the decisions and directions of this offseason.  Indeed, this strategic turning point for Cincinnati has already begun with the ascensions of two new coordinators.  How this season plays out may tell us that today marks the beginning of new regime altogether.

While grumbles and comparisons are undeniable, there are significant implications that come with a Head Coach who may feel some heat radiating from their chair.  The pressure to ‘win now’ has been relevant for Coach Lewis since the Green / Dalton NFL Draft in 2011, but with last year’s verse looking same as the first, the structure of this final year of the plan could take on bit more desperation than earlier, more methodical phases in the overall strategy.

Personal hubris and ego are not trademarks of Lewis’s coaching style, but the pressure to get beyond the first round of the playoffs could manifest in a myriad of ways that could leave the fans puzzled.
