Michael Johnson leaves Bengals for Buccaneers

The first of the Bengals Free Agents have been signed away from the organization. Michael Johnson will be a Tampa Bay Buccaneer in 2014.

Michael Johnson had arguably his best year in 2012 with 11.5 sacks and 52 combined tackles with the Bengals. Although Johnson’s performance dropped in 2013, he still had 9 pass deflections and played a key role with the absence of Geno Atkins.

The details of the contract, according to ESPN Josina Anderson on ESPN.com, is around $43.75 million over 5 years with $24 million in guaranteed money.

The only question for Bengals fans now should be, are the Bengals going to find somebody in free agency or use an early draft pick on someone?

The Bengals lose Johnson and maybe Collins and sign Tate and Mays. Who do you think won that one? Bengals better do better than the Reds did in free agency or they will end up like the Reds. Third place.
