1. Kansas City Chiefs -NFL Play 60 Kid, QB

This player is a very raw talent but has more potential than anyone in the draft. He technically is not old enough to play in the NFL but the Chiefs won’t be competing anytime soon and it would be a perfect opportunity to develop a young quarterback. Every seems to agree that he will become a successful QB and even though it’s not certain if he will become an elite player one thing is certain, he will be everyone’s Moms favorite player.

2. Jacksonville Jaguars-Leon Sandcastle, CB

Sandcastle seemed to come out of nowhere as he made some jaws drop at the combine with his insane 4.2 40 yard dash time and amazing ability to shut down pretty much anyone. I know it’s early, but I could see Sandcastle becoming a Deon Sanders type player because from watching film they almost look identical. The Jaguars are just going for best player available here and Leon Sandcastle fits the bill and will be the league’s next shut down corner.

3. Oakland Raiders -Shane Falco, QB

With the trade for Carson Palmer not working out, the Raiders are on the lookout for another old washed up QB and I think Falco is their guy. Falco led a group of replacements to a playoff win and that’s barely a step up from the Raiders roster today so, Falco should feel right at home.

There has been a lot of talk on twitter about what free agent the Bengals are going after but I’m here to tell you all that we need to take a step back. Yes we have the most cap space in the league but that is due to all the free agents we currently have. We have to keep our core players before we can even consider any free agent. There are 3 players on our roster that are critical to the future of the franchise and it would be devastating to let even one of them go.

Dec 23, 2012; Pittsburgh, PA, USA; Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J.
Let’s start with who is going to want the most money, A.J. Green. That’s not a hit on Green’s greediness but how much the receiver position is valued. Calvin Johnson, who AJ Green will be on par with or better in two years, signed the most recent giant contract for receivers with an 8 year 132 million dollar deal.

That averages to around 16.5 million dollars a year which is a tremendous amount of money. Plus, with how much salaries have been going up lately and how good Green can be, he may want even more and the Bengals must be prepared to give him all the money he wants. Letting AJ walk would set back the franchise a couple seasons which the front office cannot allow.

If we spend all of our money the next two seasons on other free agents, we will have no money left. AJ Green is the number 1 priority and the Bengals have to have his huge extension in mind.

This debate has been going on since the draft started and yet teams still face this difficult decision each and every year. Do you draft for a position of need or do you draft the best player available? The answer is like many other things in the NFL; it’s complicated. You always try to draft the player that’s going to help your franchise the most but you obviously have to take the player’s position into consideration.

Lets take the Colts for example. If the number 1 QB prospect Geno Smith somehow falls to them, the Colts obviously shouldn’t take him. There is no point in having two very good young quarterbacks on the same team. This also goes both ways. One of the Bengals’ biggest needs is a linebacker and I would love to take a good one in the first round. But, if the Bengals pick comes around and the highest linebacker on your big board is the 20th ranked player left, you probably shouldn’t take him.
