The Kansas City Chiefs will make former Central Michigan offensive tackle Eric Fisher the first overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft, according to Pro Football Talk.

NFL Draft insider Tony Pauline reports the Oakland Raiders are unlikely to draft Florida defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, even if they stay put at No. 3. He also reports there’s “good chance” that either the Detroit Lions or Arizona Cardinals trade into the Raiders’ spot to pursue Oklahoma OT Lane Johnson.

Pro Football Talk is also reporting the Raiders are targeting Houston CB D.J. Hayden if they are able to trade down. Jason La Canfora is reporting they may even take him at pick #3:

Several teams picking in the high end of the first round believe the Raiders, if they cannot trade down, will take Houston cornerback D.J. Hayden with the third overall pick, which would certainly qualify as the first shocker of this unpredictable draft.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports the Browns have no interest in trading for Patriots QB Ryan Mallett, as the Pats want at least a second-round pick for Mallett, but the Browns don’t currently own a 2013 second-round pick.

A trade between the Miami Dolphins and Chiefs involving Branden Albert won’t be further discussed until both teams pick in first-round.

With the NFL Draft just hours away, the Cleveland Browns are desperately looking for new quarterback to come in and challenge the incumbent Brandon Weeden, and they may do so via trade. New England Patriots back QB Ryan Mallett has been discussed for awhile as potential target for the Browns, and news of a potential deal are now coming out with just hours before the Browns will be on the clock with the #6 pick. If they make that selection without a deal for Mallett in place, they may draft West Virginia’s Geno Smith.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be looking to fill a number of holes caused by a roster purge this offseason, and predraft speculation has centered on five players: outside linebacker Jarvis Jones of Georgia, running back Eddie Lacy of Alabama, wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson of Tennessee, tight end Tyler Eifert of Notre Dame, and safety Kenny Vaccaro of Texas. Lacy and Patterson will almost certainly be on the board, while the other three could go as high as the top-10, and the Steelers are in no position to trade up to select them.

Picking at #32 is a position teams envy, as it typically means your the defending Super Bowl champion, but that doesn’t mean the Baltimore Ravens don’t have a significant amount of holes to fill on their roster. While wide receiver and middle linebacker are the most immediate needs, if they are unable to sign free agent offensive tackle Bryan McKinnie, then finding an adequate tackle to protect quarterback Joe Flacco’s blind-side will be priority.

The Baltimore Sun is reporting the Ravens will monitor Oklahoma tackle Lane Johnson as a potential replacement for McKinnie,

Oklahoma offensive tackle Lane Johnson was one of many attendees at this weekend’s NFL Scouting Combine. He, like many others, with through a series of various tests, both physically and mentally, to give NFL coaches and executives and idea of how good of an NFL prospect he is.

During the interview sessions, he was surprised and confused by the methods used by the Cincinnati Bengals:

One thing caught me off guard. I was meeting with Cincinnati, and I went in there and they told me to remember five things. They just listed five things like a bear, a flower, a tree, a man and like a dog. And they told me to remember those terms, at the end of the meeting to see if I could remember them. And from that point on, they listed numbers. They said, like, 9167, and then told me to repeat them in reverse order. So that was probably the weirdest meeting I’ve ever been a part of.

Credit to Mike Dyce for pointing this out.

So what were the Bengals trying to figure out with that interview? His memory skills? Making calls at the line in the middle of a game?

Hey, at least they didn’t ask him if his mom was a prostitute.
