UPDATE 5:30

Jay Gruden wrapped up his interview with the Arizona Cardinals today, and he revealed to the media that he will be interviewing with the Philadelphia Eagles next week:

#Bengals OC Jay Gruden indicates in Arizona news conference he’ll interview with Eagles next week.

UPDATE 3:40 PM

According to Cardinals Vice President of Media Relations Mark Dalton, not only is Jay Gruden meeting with Arizona about their vacant head-coaching job, but will also be available to the media this afternoon:

Bengals OC Jay Gruden meeting w @azcardinals today; available to speak w media at approx 3 PM at #AZCards training facility

This also came out last night from Howard Eskin

Here’s the field 4 #eagles..Lovie Smith, Bruce Arians, Jay Gruden, Brian Kelly, Gus bradley and maybe a surprise. So who do u like?

The Jacksonville Jaguars have fired head coach Mike Mularkey after one season, the worst in franchise history. New general manager David Caldwell made the announcement today. Mularkey went 2-14 this season, and now there is one more head-coaching vacancy, and there’s already two coaches the Jags are expected to target:

Two candidates for the Jaguars HC job are expected to be 49ers OC Greg Roman and Rams OC Brian Schottenheimer.

— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) January 10, 2013

If you recall, the Jaguars interview Bengals Offensive coordinator Jay Gruden last season before ultimately hiring Mularkey. While Jay denied that any interview took place and also said he never contacted the Jaguars, most believe he’ll eventually leave for a head-coaching job, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Jags give him a call sometime this offseason.

Jay has already been linked to the Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals, and despite his unit finishing ranked 18th and 12th in points per game and 20th and 22nd in yards per game, NFL teams believe he is a worthy candidate of an NFL head-coaching job.

He has stated that he intends on being back in Cincinnati next season.

With the NFL being a league of constant movement and shifting franchises, there are often new head coaches at the start of new seasons. 2012 is no different, as their are seven teams (out of 30) that has hope that the new beginning will bring new, and better, results.

Breaking down all of these coaches, they obviously have a wealth of experience. Following will be a nice index of all the newcomers (a couple getting a second shot) in the NFL.

These coaches are

Dennis Allen (Oakland)

Romeo Crennel (Kansas City)

Jeff Fisher (St.Louis)

Greg Schiano (Tampa Bay)

Mike Mularkey (Jacksonville)

Chuck Pagano (Indianapolis)

Joe Philbin (Miami)

Dennis Allen (Oakland)

The Oakland Raiders has been the revolving door of the NFL for the past six seasons. Within that time span they have had four coaches, none of which have spent more than two years with the team.

The list: Lane Kiffin, Tom Cable, Hue Jackson and finally Allen.

Allen was the Defensive Coordinator for the Denver Broncos before moving to Oakland. He was credited for the late run that the Broncos had last season by Tebow haters. Allen spent just one year with the Broncos before receiving his new gig.

He started as a Graduate Assistant in the 90′s with Texas A&M.

It is clear that he knows defense. Though predominately a secondary/corners coach, Allen did spend some time working with defensive linemen in New Orleans.
