The Kansas City Chiefs are negotiating with the Miami Dolphins on a deal that would send offensive tackle Branden Albert to Miami for a second-round draft pick. KC wants one of Miami’s two second-round picks (Nos. 42, 54), and if they don’t get one, they could hold on to Albert and try and move him to right tackle next season.

Albert is targeting a deal worth $36 million over four seasons. He already signed his franchise tender for the 2013 season, which guarantees him $9.828 million unless he signs a long-term deal.

The Chiefs plan to take either offensive tackle Luke Joeckel or Eric Fisher with the top pick, then have them play left tackle while shipping Albert out for the best deal they can get.

But that may not be the only blockbuster trade the Chiefs make prior to their first selction, as General Manager John Dorsey told USA TODAY Sports on Wednesday that they are listening to offers for the #1-overall pick:

I got a few calls this morning and this afternoon. You have to explore every option, and that’s what we’re going to do.

The Cleveland Browns will be looing to add an impact receiver in this year’s draft, but may be able to add a quality player before the draft even begins:

#Browns seriously considering a trade for Dolphins WR Davone Bess, according to a league source. Several teams in the mix.

#Browns obviously have glaring need at receiver and #Dolphins are in pretty solid shape. Davone Bess had 61 catches for 778 yards in 2012. — Sean Jensen (@seankjensen) April 24, 2013

WR Davone Bess is a solid player but let’s not get crazy; I’m hearing mid-round picks being discussed.

The Newark-Star Ledger reports there’s been no movement regarding New Orleans Saints running back Chris Ivory and a trade to the New York Jets, but something could happen at the last minute.

Could the Cincinnati Bengals be looking to trade up in this year’s NFL Draft to select a player they covet but don’t feel as though will be on the board at pick #21? According to ESPN’s Adm Schefter, several teams are looking to trade back in this year’s draft to stockpile more picks:

Teams that have made calls about moving back in draft include PHIL, DET, CLEV, BUFF, MIA. Doing what they should.

— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) April 23, 2013

It’s highly unlikely the Bengals trade all the way up to Philly’s #4 pick, Detroit’s #5 pick, or AFC North rival Cleveland’s #6 pick.

One interesting trade scenario brought up by Sean O’Donnell involved the Bengals swapping picks with the Rams to move up to #16 and select Texas safety Kenny Vaccaro.

Sadly though, the Bengals are historically hesitant to trade up in the draft, opting instead to take the best available player who fits their system that’s on the board. But that doesn’t mean they’re afraid to move back and acquire more picks, and several teams behind Cincinnati are looking to move up.

The Kansas City Chiefs are expected to draft Texas A&M offensive tackle Luke Joeckel with the #1-overall pick in next Thursday’s NFL Draft, and they’ve now given the Miami Dolphins permission to negotiate with Branden Albert:

From Total Access: If #Dolphins make the deal for Branden Albert, they’d want to re-work deal for long-term extension. On franchise tag now

— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) April 18, 2013

Albert has the left side of the Chiefs offensive side locked down, and doesn’t want to move to right tackle. The Chiefs reportedly want a second-round pick for Albert, who is in search of a long-term deal and a home at left tackle, where Joekel will be playing next year.

The New York Jets are still considering a move for restricted free agent running back Chris Ivory of the New Orleans Saints. Ivory visited the Jets last weekend, but the deadline for teams to sign restricted free agents to offer sheets is today. The Jets could still acquire Ivory via trade if he signs his tender or agrees to a new deal.
