Since it is the post-draft part of the offseason, I have decided to do a new segment of my own, called My Big Five. Up until the start of the season, I will name my Top-5 players by position, side of the ball, my Top-5 coaches, teams by year, anything I can think of. I will start with Quarterbacks, and here are my Top-5.

5. Dan Marino (Miami Dolphins)
He was one of those great 1983 quarterbacks, drafted by the Dolphins late in the first round in that draft. During his career, he went to a couple of Super Bowls, but never won one. He Was highly consistent, and interceptions weren’t much of a problem. He retired with records in TD passes and passing yards, which would be broken by Brett Favre in 2007. He did it all, but could never win the big one.

4. Terry Bradshaw (Pittsburgh Steelers)
He is still the greatest Steelers QB ever in my opinion. Bradshaw is one of only 2 QBs to ever win 4 Super Bowls. He threw balls to such players as Lynn Swann and Franco Harris. His career would be ended in 1983 by an elbow injury.

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots have agreed to a three-year contract extension through the 2017 season, when he will be 40 years old. The biggest news is that his will pay Brady a $3 million signing bonus immediately, in addition to salaries of $7 million in 2015, $8 million in 2016 and $9 million in 2017, which means for the next three years, he will be making less than $10 million annually, while QBs like Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, and Joe Flacco will be making $20 million+ per year. That’s the definition of a team-first player.

In the AFC Conference Title game between the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens, the Ravens came out victorious in their quest for Super Bowl XLVII.

Although the Patriots have officially entered their off-season, there still remains one piece of controversy about the game in New England.

Late in the second quarter, the Patriots offense was marching downfield for a score right before half time. On a play deep in Baltimore territory, Tom Brady was forced out of the pocket from oncoming pressure on his right.

Running left, he made the decision to tuck it and grab what yards he could with his legs. Indeed, something we don’t always expect Tom Brady to do.

After gaining about three yards, incoming safety Ed Reed forced the veteran quarterback into a slide to protect himself.

However, the debate started when Tom Brady flipped his leg higher in the air than a quarterback would normally do during a protection slide. He nearly injured the other veteran in the process, as Reed jumped to avoid any major harm from the metal cleat.
