Curtain Call – Brett Favre

Country boy, hard nosed, scrappy, ageless, stand-up, Hall of Famer. These are just a few of the words that will be used to describe the retiring Brett Favre. Coming from the Hattiesburg, Ms area and into the Dells of Wisconsin, Brett Favre doesn’t appear to let his big fame, and big money, get to him. His first-ballot Hall of Fame credentials speak for themselves in the football arena. His candid acknowledgement of addiction to painkillers, his approachable demeanor to fans and media all make Favre one of the best players in NFL history. Never mind that he is over the age of 40, playing a position that men in their early thirties start to fade. Never mind that last year, he had one of the best comeback years any quarterback has had in this league in modern history. Never mind that he had such year surrounded by players who were not marquee names, who were not nationally recognized stars in the NFL. Enjoy your retirement Mr. Favre, as you have earned it, and have left many fans of the game with great memories
