Keith Rivers writes that he had fun in his first game at PBS.
Baltimore GM Ozzie Newsome is a lot smarter than Mike Brown. Not that we didn’t know that already.
Backup QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, who will be a free agent after this season, is piling up some preseason highlights for his video resume.
Doc praises the way Carson Palmer and Marvin Lewis have dealt with Mike Brown’s decision to bring back Chris Henry.
Second-round pick WR Jerome Simpson will start against the Saints.
B.J. is back in the saddle at BengalsBlog.
Kirkendall previews the Saints game and runs through our offensive struggles while he’s at it. For those that can’t get enough of preseason game previews, The Blitz offers one as well.
Pragmatic runs through the roster on offense.
WDR argues that the return of Henry signals that last Aprils draft strategy was a failure. I’m not convinced. The rule of thumb is that it takes a year for WRs to develop, if they ever do, and the selection of guys like Simpson and Andre Caldwell was aimed more at future needs (the hole created when T.J. Houshmandzadeh leaves next season, for example) than current ones. Henry’s back because Mike Brown is a dingbat. I wouldn’t read anything more into it than that.
