Our weekly look at how notable Bengals free agent losses and cuts are faring.
During free agency ’08, the Bengals lost three players — Landon Johnson, Madieu Williams and Justin Smith — and in their final cuts released fan favorites Rudi Johnson and Willie Anderson, as well as Deltha O’Neal and Ahmad Brooks. So, how did this years’ crop of ex-Bengals fare in week 6?
- Madieu remained sidelined by a neck injury this week. He has not played yet this season.
- With Adam Terry hurt, Big Willie got his first start as a Raven. The Colts crushed Baltimore 31-3.
- Landon had no stats in Carolina’s 27-3 loss to Tampa Bay. He has 7 tackles for the year.
- Rudi Johnson had 17 carries for 38 yards, and a single catch for 4 yards, in the Lions’ loss to the Vikings. On the year, he has 40/162 on the ground and 7/61 through the air, with 1 (receiving) TD and 1 fumble.
- Deltha O’Neal got abused in San Diego’s 30-10 romp over New England. He added 3 tackles to his record, which brings him to 15 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 INT for the season.
- Justin Smith had 4 tackles in the 49ers’ loss to Philadelphia. For the year he has 32 tackles, 3 sacks, a FF and an INT.
- Ahmad did not play. He has been inactive all year.
