Henderson Called Up; Palmer Back After Bye?

After two years of dickering around with him — first signing him as an undrafted free agent and moving him to linebacker, then back to defensive end, and now apparently back to linebacker again — former Georgia Tech sack artist Eric Henderson may finally see the field. Henderson was highly ranked coming out of college in ’06, but went undrafted due to fears that he was prone to injuries, and indeed he has struggled to stay healthy as a Bengal. He spent all of last season on IR with a broken wrist, and missed most of preseason this year with hammy pull.
To make room for him, the Bengals placed FB Reagan Maui’a on IR.
The same news roundup notes that Marvin Lewis appears to be leaning toward ruling Carson Palmer out for next week’s game against Jacksonville, but refused to speculate about the post-bye November 16 game against Philadelphia. “At this point it’s still on course the way the medical people see it,” Lewis said. “The green light could come if things get totally back to normal.”
