The Day After

Well, Stripe Hype readers were wrong in predicting that the Detroit Lions would win a game before the Bengals (and yes, a new poll will be forthcoming shortly), but it was a close thing. The Bengals came thisclose to frittering away an 18-point lead in the fourth, while the Lions got to within 5:35 of their first win.

Thanks to yesterday’s victory, Doc notes that Vegas has installed the team as three-point favorites against their upcoming bye. I say, take the points.

Sweet. I want one:

"They have a comrade in the guy I saw at the game yesterday. I wasn’t able to get a picture, but he had a black (old style) Bengals jersey with the number 666 and “M. Brown” on the back. Brilliant."

Don’t get that? Click here. (And even if you do get it, click there anyway.)

Bulletin board material for the Bengals from SI’s Peter King:

"The Bengals have seven games left, and Chad Johnson says he thinks the team could finish 8-8. Well, in two weeks the Bengals start a rather interesting five-game stretch — Eagles, at Steelers, Ravens, at Colts, Redskins — and I’ll just say this: If they sweep those five, I’m changing my name to Peter Ocho Cinco."

Sorry, Jeanne.

Former Postie Kevin Goheen breaks down the Andrew Whitworth – John Henderson rumble. Kirk has video. I agree with those who think that ripping a guy’s helmet off and trying to gouge out his eyes calls for some action by Emperor Goodell.
