Breaking: Bengals’ Chris Henry Suffers “Life-Threatening” Injuries

12/17 Morning Update: The Enquirer’s Joe Reedy says that as of about 8:30 eastern this morning, there has been no change in Henry’s condition. Keep those thoughts and prayers coming, folks.

OP:Per the Bengals’ official site, WR Chris Henry suffered life-threatening injuries in a pickup truck accident in North Carolina today. More as it develops.

Per this report, Henry was thrown from the back of his fiance’s pickup truck following an argument.

"Based on information gathered by police at the scene, a domestic situation began at a residence on Peachtree Road. According to police, his fiance got into a pickup truck and drove away from the residence. As she was driving away, Henry jumped into the bed of the truck. Police say at some point when his fiance was driving, Henry fell out of the back of the truck."

Coverage from the Charlotte Observer here.

"A woman who answered the door and identified herself as the fiancee’s mother but declined to give her name said Henry and his fiancee had been staying at the house while he was on injured reserve and they were making plans for their wedding. She said she wasn’t home at the time of the dispute and wasn’t sure exactly what happened, but she said her daughter is at Henry’s bedside at the hospital."

According to Fox Sports, Henry is on life support and his condition is “dire.”

A false Twitter report of Henry’s death has been debunked, however Charlotte police have opened a homicide investigation into the incident. No charges have been filed, and I repeat: as of this writing all reputable sources say Henry is still alive.

ESPN is reporting Henry is listed in serious condition. Joe Reedy of the Enquirer tells the sports network that Henry’s injury is believed to be a head injury.

Personal note: damn, this just keeps getting worse. Hang in there, Chris.

Henry’s agent Tweets that he is indeed fighting for his life tonight.

It’s quarter to 1 EST and Joe Reedy summarizes what we know here. Goodnight, folks. Hopefully the morning brings better news.
