Most Desirable Job?

I know I have a soft spot for orange Kool-Aid, but I started thinking today (and then my head hurt and I had to lay down). It’s entirely possible that the Bengals might have the most enticing talent of all the available NFL jobs this offseason. Think about that for a second.

Carolina will probably need a new coach. San Francisco might too. Cleveland and Miami could also be open. But if you’re a coach waiting for the phone to ring, would you take any of those jobs over Cincinnati?

Think about it.

Cincinnati has a stable, perhaps not stellar, quarterback. There’s a Pro Bowler at left tackle, the most important position of the offensive line. The team has two talented rookie receivers and a defense that has suddenly found a pass rush. Throw in a pair of cornerbacks (if they’re resigned) that are above average and what figures to be a soft schedule next year. With all that in place, some coaches will certainly be excited about Cincinnati.

I’m serious.

The challenge will be finding a good one, someone willing to look past the bumbling ownership of Mike Brown. But other than that, Cincinnati isn’t  a bad job.

Think about it.
