Andy Dalton has been nominated for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week, go vote for him!

  • Dalton had an impressive day on Sunday. He went 27/41, throwing for 322 yards, 2 TDs. He hasn’t had any turnovers yet, and has posted a cumulative passer rating of 105.7 across two games.

In addition to working out former Panthers Runningback Terrell Sutton, the Bengals also held workouts today for several players:

  • WR Armon Binns (signed to PS), DT Derek Landri, RB James Davis, RB Shaun Draughn, NT Gabe Watson. Landri was a 5th round pick for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2007, and he has 6 career sacks. Davis was a 6th round pick by the Browns in 2009, and he has 28 carries in his career. Draughn was picked up by the Washington Redksins as an undrafted free agent after the 2011 draft. Watson was a 4th round pick for the Arizona Cardinals in 2009, and he has 105 tackles in his career. Binn is well-known within the Cincinnati community. He played for the UC Bearcats last year, leading the Big East in receiving, and he has taken Andrew Hawkins place on the practice squad.

Former Bengal WR Quan Cosby has been signed by the Denver Broncos.

  • Cosby returned punts for the Bengals for the last 2 years, and was replaced this year by former Patriot Brandon Tate as the Bengals primary special teams returner. The Broncos also signed Tight End John Nalbone to their practice squad, who attended training camp for the Bengals this year, and was beaten out by Colin Cochart for the backup tight end spot.

Safety Taylor Mays is expected to make his regular season debut this week against his former team the San Fransisco 49ers.

  • After being limited in practice since a knee injury in the preseason game against the Colts, Mays will likely see some playing time this week. He is expected to back up Strong Safety Chris Crocker. The 49ers traded him for a 2013 7th round pick after using a second round pick on him in 2010. Linebacker Manny Lawson and Cornerback Nate Clements will also be facing their 2010 team, the 49ers, making the game a very interesting matchup.

The trial date has been set for Cornerback Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones for his July incident with police at a Cincinnati Bar.

  • Pacman supposedly resisted arrest and was shouting obscenities after his wife’s birthday party in July. He had a neck brace on at the time of the incident. Pacman pleaded not guilty to charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The court date is set for November 17, which is 4 weeks after he is eligible to return to the team. Pacman is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform List, and cannot return to the team until Week 7.
