When the Bengals and Ravens square off on Sunday, there will be much at stake for both teams as far as the playoffs are concerned. If the Ravens can win, they’ll lock up the #2 seed and a first round bye. If the Bengals win, they are guaranteed a playoff spot for only the third time in the last two decades. But besides the playoff implications, there are some other note-worthy incentives:
With 1,016 rushing yards this season, Cedric Benson already has already earned a $500,000 bonus incentive this year. If he can manage to rush for 84 yards against the Ravens on Sunday, he’ll get an extra $250,000 incentive. In the first game against Baltimore this year, Benson had only 15 carries for41 yards on a 2.7 ypc average, but did manage to score two touchdowns.
If the Bengals get their 10th win, Marvin Lewis will become the only Head Coach in Bengals history to win 10+ games in three or more seasons. He already became the Bengals’ winningest coach ever this season when his team defeated Seattle in week 8. A win Sunday would also give Lewis his 70th win as a Head Coach,
