Browns Frontrunners for RG3? May also Target Matt Flynn.

The Bengals face a difficult schedule every year, as they have to play in the stacked AFC North. They play Pittsburgh and Pro Bowl QB Ben Roethlisberger twice, while also playing Baltimore and Joe Flacco twice. Those two teams combined to win an average 23 games per year the last four years. The weak link in the division has been the Cleveland Browns, who the Bengals have swept four of the past seven seasons. All three of Cincinnati playoff berths have been decided by one game, meaning that the Browns have been one of the Bengals biggest assets in propelling the team into the playoffs.

The Brown may no longer be a sure-win like they’ve been if they are able to get Baylor QB Robert Griffith III. NFL Network’s Charley Casserly reported today that he believes the Browns are in the driver’s seat to acquire the Rams’ No. 2 overall pick and draft RG3. Griffith is viewed by many as a franchise-caliber QB, and some have said he’s an even better prospect than last year’s top pick, Cam Newton was. If the Browns can get RG3 and surround him with just a descent supporting cast, the Ohio outcasts could become as formidable an opponent as they’ve been sice they returned to Cleveland in 1999.
