The Bengals have released safety Chris Crocker, according to Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer. Crocker started all 16 games last season at strong safety and registered 61 tackles and 3.5 sacks, along with five pass defenses. This will likely lead to the team drafting a safety within the first three rounds of the NFL Draft. Crocker had a salary cap number of $2.455 million this year, and the team felt as though his production level didn’t live up to the paycheck. Hopefully Crocker will bounce back with another team, as he still has a good amount of football left in him.
