Sean’s 2012 Top 10 Fantasy Football Running Backs

4 of 5

4. Maurice Jones-Drew, Jacksonville Jaguars

Jones-Drew was the only weapon on the Jaguars offense last season. That didn’t stop him from becoming the NFL’s leading rusher of 2011. Now with a couple more weapons at wide receiver and a (hopefully) more competent Blaine Gabbert under center, Jones-Drew should be able to duplicate his success from last season.

2012 Projection: 1,471 rush yards, 12 rush TD’s, 412 receiving yards, 2 receiving TD’s – 274 points

3. Ray Rice, Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore seems to always find ways to get the ball in Rice’s hands. It could be a rush, a reception, an end around, a screen pass – the fact of the matter is, when you get the football in to his hands, generally good things happen for the Ravens. They will continue to ride the wave this season and give the ball to Rice early and often.

2012 Projection: 1,264 rush yards, 11 rush TD’s, 732 receiving yards, 4 receiving TD’s – 289 points

2. LeSean McCoy, Philadelphia Eagles

McCoy has instantly turned into one of the most explosive backs in the NFL. When you put him on the same offense as the equally explosive Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson, you have a major three-headed monster on your hands. McCoy will continue to receive the bulk of the touches for the Eagles offense this season as a rusher and receiver and will put up tremendous fantasy numbers once again.

2012 Projection: 1,469 rush yards, 16 rush TD’s, 444 receiving yards, 4 receiving TD’s – 310 points
