All this being said, it’s time to reveal the rebutted top 5 wide receivers list. Here are the new rankings:

1. Calvin Johnson
2. Larry Fitzgerald
3. Andre Johnson
4. Roddy White
5. Wes Welker

As you can see, there are two new additions to this list. First, at number four, Roddy White. White has been absolutely electric for a long time now in Atlanta. He is one of those receivers that will do just about anything on the field, and do it well. He constantly puts up monster numbers each year as he has great speed, terrific route running, solid hands, and big time leaping ability. He is always a go to target when a big catch is needed. White shows no signs of slowing down and with quarterbacks Matt Ryan playing well and Julio Jones complementing him on the other side, expect to see big things from White for years to come.

To round out this list, the fifth spot belongs to Wes Welker. Welker has blossomed into a very elite receiver since joining New England and is one of the most reliable targets in the league. He is a pure slot receiver and takes pressure off of all other receivers on the field when he is in the formation. One of the biggest reason for the success of the tight ends in New England is because of Welker. Defenses have to keep and eye on where he is on the field at all times and this opens up windows for other receivers in that offense. Even while being used as a decoy in situations, Welker still constantly puts up 100+ receptions and over 1,00o receiving yards every year. He is one of the best slot receivers to play the game and is very valuable at that position.

That will do it for the revamped top 5 wide receiver list. Being that this is a rebuttal to the original list, one can only imagine that they will continue. So let’s hear your top 5 lists.
