Morning Headlines: FSU’s Brandon Jenkins done for Year, & Brian Urlacher Returns


Florida State senior DE Brandon Jenkins will miss the rest of the 2012 season due to an injured left foot. Jenkins is one of the top senior prospects for the 2013 NFL Draft, but could redshirt and return to FSU next year.

Chargers RB Ryan Mathews said he’s yet to be medically cleared for contact as he recovers from an injured collarbone suffered in the beginning of the preseason.

Bears MLB Brian Urlacher was back at practice on Monday.

Cowboys WR Miles Austin is  practicing and is on track to play Wednesday night as he recovers from a hamstring injury.

The Giants expect WR Hakeem Nicks to play against the Cowboys Wednesday night.

Redskins RB Evan Royster is listed as the # tailback on the teams’ depth chart as of now.

It now looks as though Browns rookie runningback Trent Richardson may play in the teams’ opener against the Eagles.

After undergoing successful knee surgery for multiple injuries to the MCL and ACL, the Steelers are expected to designate rookie right guard David DeCastro as their injured reserve player that is eligible for activation after eight weeks.
