Cincinnati (+6) @ Baltimore

Cincy is looking for their first back to back winning seasons since the early 1980’s. They have a hungry young club that wants to get it done. It may have to wait a week though as they face a very tough Baltimore team when they play at home. Being on such a big stage for the Bengals younger players may prove to be too much to handle, and Ray Lewis and the Baltimore veterans will exploit that. Look for the Bengals to keep it close though.

Projection: BAL 23, CIN 20 – Spread in favor of Cincinnati.

San Diego (+1) @ Oakland

San Diego is somehow getting points in this game. They are far superior than the Raiders on both sides of the ball. Philip Rivers will have a field day against a very weak Oakland secondary. Carson Palmer will throw enough interceptions to keep the Raiders out of the game. The only glimmer of light that Oakland has right now is a healthy Darren McFadden, but he won’t be enough to carry them through this game.

Projection: SD 27, OAK 13 – Spread in favor of San Diego.

That will do it for the week one projections. It is very tough to project such things so early in the season because everything is being based primarily on last season and the preseason. It is still up in the air as to know exactly how good these teams will be in 2012, but we should start to get a bit of an idea very shortly. Let us know what you think of these projections or give us some of your own by commenting on the message board below or messaging us on Twitter. Here’s to a great NFL season!
