Former NFL receiver Chad Johnson has been formally charged with misdemeanor domestic battery. The free agent’s long and productive NFL career now appears over, as any team that signs him would risk having him miss time due to suspension for conduct detrimental to the NFL. Or he could very well be in jail soon. Either way, his chances of signing with any team are minimal now.

Packers Pro-Bowl receiver Greg Jennings is 50-50 to play tonight against the Chicago Bears tonight in the 2012 debut of Thursday night football.

Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart is optimistic he’ll return Sunday against the Saints after missing last week’s opener with an ankle injury.

WR Sidney Rice missed Seahawks practice Wednesday with a knee injury, while RB Marshawn Lynch was limited with back spasms.

TE Antonio Gates (ribs) is expected to return to Chargers practice today.

NFL security says Raiders have cleaned up the Black Hole.

Lions WR Calvin Johnson was on the sidelines for Wednesday’s practice with what the team is calling a foot injury.

John Madden: Robert Griffin III is “a Tim Tebow that can pass”

Browns outside linebacker Scott Fujita is back on Browns’ 53-man roster after the NFL lifted his roster exemption.

Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin expects RG Ramon Foster (eye) and RT Marcus Gilbert (knee) to be fine for this week’s game against the Jets.
