The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is predicting that Pro-Bowl outside-linebacker James Harrison won’t play until after the teams’ bye-week, which doesn’t come until Week 4, giving him plenty of time to fully heal from offseason knees surgery. The Steelers play Oakland next week, so they should be fine without him, but they’ll need his pass-rushing ability back for a week 5 showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles.  RB Rashard Mendenhall (knee) is also listed as doubtful for Week 2, but hopes to return in the coming weeks.

The Ravens’s Friday practice session saw the return of outside linebacker Paul Kruger and defensive end Pernell McPhee.

Sunday’s Eagles-Ravens matchup will be a homecoming for Ravens rookie RB Bernard Pierce, who played college ball at Temple.

Browns RB Trent Richardson is ready to rumble in the jungle this week, as he’s looking to have his breakout NFL performance against the Browns’ biggest rivals in the Bengals, after last week’s NFL debut saw him only muster 39 yards on 19 carries.
