  • The Bridgestone Super Bowl XLVI halftime show last year featuring Madonna was watched by an average of 112.6 million viewers, making it the most-watched Super Bowl halftime ever, surpassing Michael Jackson’s halftime performance in 1993.
  • Phil Simms, the former Giants quarterback who was the MVP of Super Bowl XXI, will be the analyst (with play-by-play man Jim Nantz) for CBS’ broadcast of the game. It will be Simms’ seventh turn as a Super Bowl analyst. That is the second-most in history after John Madden’s 11.
