Don’t expect to see the New York Jets reach a resolution with embattled cornerback Darrell Revis anytime soon. After reporting yesterday that the Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers were interested in trading for the All-Pro cornerback, The New York Post reported Thursday morning that Revis does not want to be traded from the Jets:
"Revis’ glass somehow remains half-full. He remembers the glory days when a young Mark Sanchez took the Jets to back-to-back AFC Championship games and hasn’t given up on that idea either, that if Sanchez is surrounded by better weapons, anything is possible in this NFL. Gulp.Revis spoke out of turn when blurted out on Seahawks fullback Michael Robinson’s web show that it would be “awesome” to play for the 49ers. But the source insists the faux pas by no means signaled Revis attempting an escape from New York."
Expect to hear plenty of trade chatter regarding Revis leading up to the NFL Draft, but if a deal isn’t worked out before or during the draft, it’s hard to foresee him playing anywhere other than New York in 2013.
