We’re still 5 months away from the Cincinnati Bengals playing a live football game, but it’s never too early to project what the starting lineup will look like if the season began today:

QB: Andy Dalton

FB: Chris Pressley

WR: A.J. Green

TE: Jermaine Gresham

LT: Andrew Whitworth

LG: Clint Boling

C: Kyle Cook

RG: Kevin Zeitler

RT: Anthony Collins

WR: Mohamed Sanu

LDE: Carlos Dunlap

DT: Domata Peko

DT: Geno Atkins

RDE: Michael Johnson

OLB: Rey Maualuga

MLB: Vontaze Burfict

OLB: Emmanuel Lamur

LCB: Adam Jones or Terence Newman

FS: Reggie Nelson

SS: Taylor Mays

RCB: Leon Hall

Special teams

K: Mike Nugent

P: Kevin Huber

LS: Clark Harris

KR: Brandon Tate, Adam Jones

PR: Adam Jones

*At center, while Kyle cook’s play at the end of the 2013 season wasn’t exactly stellar, he’s a veteran who started every game he’s been healthy in since 2008, including when the Bengals last claimed the AFC North title in 2009. Marvin Lewis has an unwilling stubbornness to sit his veterans for younger, more talented players.

*At corner and safety, if the Bengals miss out on a safety in the NFL Draft, it’s not out of the realm of possibility to see Terence Newman gets snaps at safety. Leaving Taylor Mays back their full-time is a disaster waiting to happen.

*At linebacker, Lamur showed enough that given a full offseason and training camp, he’ll be ready to take over the starting WILL spot, while Rey moves over to the SAM and Burfict goes to the MIKE.

Of course, how the Bengals draft can easily change theses plans, but given the roster stands now, this is the lineup I’d expect to see take the field if a game were being played today.
