Dustin Meritt’s 2013 NFL Mock Draft: Full First-Round with Trades

4 of 4

September 29, 2012; Tampa, FL, USA; Florida State Seminoles wide receiver Rashad Greene (80) is congratulated by offensive linesman Menelik Watson (71) after they scored a touchdown against the South Florida Bulls during the first quarter at Raymond James Stadium. 21 CIN – RT Menelik Watson
Why is Andre Smith is still on the market? With all the tackle needing teams it’s confusing. His agent has to be asking too much or teams don’t buy into him being or staying a top notch tackle. The Bengals move on from Smith who signs with AZ right before the draft. Watson may seem like a reach but Alexander has done well with smart athletic lineman and I think Watson could be an upgrade over Smith in the long run.

22 STL – OLB Alec Ogeltree
Fisher took a gamble on some character risks last year and so far so good. If Ogeltree can toe the line, he is a good fit for the Rams who need some talent at linebacker to go along with a solid D line.

23 KC from MIN Trade– RT/LT Terron Armstead
KC still gets a tackle, who has the athletic ability to play TE and may wind up being one of the best tackles in the draft.  Ried begins his transformation of a roster.

24 IND – G/C/RT Barrett Jones
Barrett Jones goes in the first, he has been an every position player at ALA and finds his way to the first round to a team that plans on starting Gosder Cherilus at T and Mike McGlynn at G. Jones plays ten years and has a solid career, he is too smart, tough, and versatile not to.

25 KC from MIN Trade – DT Sheldon Richardson
Richardson drives down I-70 to his new spot on the Chiefs DL, Ried loves to draft Dline in the first and the trend continues. Richardson allows the Chiefs to move on from Tyson Jackson. If you’re KC, you have to be happy with the first round, and now, three third rounders.

26 GB – SS Jonathan Cyprin
I tried to get the Packers up higher with a trade to select forRhodes, but I think they would be happy with Cyprin.

27 HOU – WR Keenan Allen
Allen ends the season as the best WR on the board, but his offseason has dropped him almost out of the first. The Texans have to address the WR spot early.

28 DEN – NT Jonathan Hankins
The Broncos get a true anchor for the middle and allow those outside rushers to do what they do best.

29 BAL trades (32,94) with NE to select – TE Tyler Eifert
Both Pitta and Dickerson will be FA’s next year and I look for them to let at least one walk. Ozzie Newsome and company are said love Eifert’s game/character and I think he fills a gap left by Boldin.

30 ATL – OLB/DE Jamie Collins
The Falcons have this guy on their radar as a SLB/rush end and know that he will be gone before they pick again. If you haven’t watched some film on Collins, it is a treat.

31 BUF trade back with SF –WR Justin Hunter
Buffalo still comes away with value and can now pick their QB and guard in the early second.

32 NE – WR Robert Woods

I know Brady is a miracle worker but right now the cupboard is bare at the WR spot. I think they really have their eye on Justin Hunter as well. Look for a possible Zach Ertz pick as well.
