Week 17 – LB Arthur Brown, Baltimore Ravens The Ravens had their eyes on Arthur Brown the whole draft season and officially made him a Raven with the 56th pick in the second round. The Kansas State linebacker was a driving force to the recent success of the Wildcats and was a true lead by example player. Brown wasn’t a flashy playmaker but he moves like a safety, rarely misses tackles, and will provide needed youth to the Ravens defense. In two years Brown had over 200 tackles, 46 tackles for loss and is very comfortable in coverage. His biggest asset will be providing stability to a Ravens defense that lost several key contributors. There it is, as you can see there will be a plethora of exciting rookies to look out for. Every year I’m surprised to see how many mid round second year players are cut loose by the team that drafted them a year prior. The reality is that it’s a win now, contribute now NFL and rookies are no longer lingering on the bench, they are expected to hit the ground sprinting.
