A.J. Green Out for this Week & Preseason Opener vs Atlanta Falcons

The Cincinnati Bengals will likely be without All-Pro receiver A.J. Green for the upcoming week after he injured his knee during the first practice of Bengals training camp. Though it was ruled as just just a bone bruise, the coaches and trainers don’t want to put their best player in an unnecessary situation in which he could re-injure it, or further damage it.
Geoff Hobson is now reporting Green will not practice this week and that there’s a good chance he won’t suit up on August 8th for the Thursday Night Football Preseason Opener vs. the Atlanta Falcons:
Sounds like AJ won't be working this week or playing in game

This shouldn’t be viewed as a negative situation though, as younger receivers like Cobi Hamilton and Roy Roundtree will get playing time in preseason games, which translates to more in-game experience than they would have normally gotten.
Both Hamilton and Roundtree have been one of the pleasent surprises through the first week of practice. Hamilton has quickly gone from a fringe player, to a legitimate threat to earn playing time ahead of Mohamed Sanu and Marvin Jones, while Roundtree may not make the roster, but is an early favorite to earn a post on the practice squad.
