Recently I tried to give an educated guess about who would compile the 1st through 3rd teams on offense. Now, I would like to continue our look at what the 1st through 3rd-teams will look like, this time on the defensive side of the ball.
CB Leon Hall, CB Terrence Newman
FS Reggie Nelson, SS George Iolka
The first team defense is already set, the only position that is not locked in is the starting safety next to Reggie Nelson. It’s not Marvin Lewis’ style to let a rookie step in this early, so I believe Iolka gets the nod on the first team. Carlos Dunlap finally will be the starter at defensive end and the addition of James Harrison will make for a very stout front seven. If the first team gets into a nickel situation, look for second year linebacker Emmanuel Lamur and cornerback Adam Jones to step in along with Wallace Gilberry replacing Domata Peko on the line.
