The Atlanta Falcons will be without linebacker Sean Weatherspoon for the foreseeable future after he suffered a dislocated finger. Weatherspoon has already been ruled out indefinitely, and it’s unclear as to when, or if he’ll play in any preseason game.
Wide receiver Julio Jones will also miss Thursday’s game, head coach Mike Smith announced. Jones was limited in Monday’s practice with a hamstring injury. Smith called the move precautionary.
Bengals backup linebacker Vinnie Rey suffered possible sprained PCL during Monday’s practice, and will be out until at least next week, according to head coach Marvin Lewis.
He also said rookie defensive tackle Larry Black is going on season-ending injured reserve after he suffered a dislocated ankle last week. Hopefully, the undrafted DT out of INdiana will be able to rehab the injury over the offseason and compete for a roster spot in 2014.
Wide receiver Marvin Jones may not play Thursday night, either, as the second-year man out of Cal has a sore hamstring that kept him out of Monday’s practice.
Also ruled out for Thursday’s game to this point is DT Brandon Thompson, WR Andrew Hawkins, WR A.J. Green and OT Andrew Whitworth. The Falcons are planning on holding out TE Tony Gonzalez.
