Despite being signed off the street nearly three weeks into training camp, the Baltimore Ravens are counting on newly signed wide receiver Brandon Stokley to contribute to a depleted receiver corp. that’s lost many of its top pass-catchers from last year’s Super Bowl-winning club.

All Stokely is worried about right now is learning the playbook and establishing chemistry with quarterback Joe Flacco:

"“Yeah, it’s very difficult,” said Stokley in an interview with the Baltimore Sun. “You’ve got to study really hard and get yourself up to speed. The other guys are further ahead because they’ve had all the offseason work. “I’ve been here a day. They know the whole playbook. So, they’re working with me. I’m trying to catch up as much as possible, but that’s the problem with not being around in the offseason.”"

Stokley is a 1999 fourth-round draft pick of Baltimore, and was a pivotal player int he Ravens first championship team, highlighted by him catching a touchdown pass from Trent Dilfer in the Bowl XXXV victory over the New York Giants. He hopes to catch one from Joe Flacco in the same scenario in what may be his last season in the NFL.
