Once again, on the next drive, the Bengals defense holds and out comes the Red Rifle. Like the previous drive, the Bengals offense looked sharp and Dalton finished this drive by completing a beautiful throw and catch for a 2 yard fade touchdown to second year receiver Mohammed Sanu.
Rookie tight end Tyler Eifert was lined up on the other side of Sanu and was seemingly playing the role of second wide receiver. This is a combo I would get used to as a Bengals fan, seeing extra weapons spread out inside the 5 yard line.
That was all for Andy Dalton and the Bengals offense. Given that Whitworth, Green, and the Law Firm BJGE didn’t play, it is safe to say the Bengals first stringers took a big step forward and look more and more ready to start the season. Dalton finished 9 of 14 for 115 yards and touchdown, accumulating a quarterback rating of 113.7.
