The Cutting Begins: A Look At Who Makes 75

Shortly after the third preseason game, 13-15 players currently on the roster will be looking for work elsewhere. As we inch closer to the start of the season, the Bengals will have to have their roster down to 75 before it gets to the final 53. One thing to keep in mind is that during these first cuts is the fourth preseason game where extras will need to be kept along the offensive and defensive line. A few player were released ahead of time but here is my shot at what the roster will look like with 75.

OFFENSE
Quarter back (3): Andy Dalton, Josh Johnson, John Skelton, Zac Robinson
Running back (5): BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Giovani Bernard, Cedric Peerman, Rex Burkhead, Dan “Boom” Herron
Full Back (3): Orson Charles, John Conner, Chris Pressley
Wide Receiver (8): A.J. Green, Mohamed Sanu, Marvin Jones, Andrew Hawkins, Brandon Tate, Cobi Hamilton, Ryan Whalen, Dane Sanzenbacher, Taveon Rogers
Tight End (4): Jermaine Gresham, Tyler Eifert, Alex Smith, Richard Quinn
Offensive Line (12): Andrew Whitworth, Clint Boling, Kyle Cook, Kevin Zietler, Andre Smith, Anthony Collins, Trevor Robinson, Mike Pollak, T.J. Johnson, Tanner Hawkinson, Reid Fragel, Dennis Roland
The running back derby will go down to the wire, I left Bernard Scott off and I wonder if he is a goner. Taveon Rogers hangs around to try and showcase his return ability and Richard Quinn allows the team to give Gresh and Eifert a rest. The final backup offensive linemen are still being figured out, and the rookies should get lots of snaps these last two games. All the rookies hang on for now.
