Skip ahead to 2012. The draft has past. Vontaze Burfict, a player Marvin personally scouted out of Arizona State has went undrafted. Burfict was labeled as slow, lazy, and uncoachable but Marvin saw hints of Ray Lewis in his play. Burfict had that menacing presence. He was an intimidator. He was what Marvin was missing.

Burfict would go on to sign with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent and after an injury to starting weakside linebacker Thomas Howard he was thrust into the starting position. He would finish the year as the Bengals’ top tackler with 127 combined tackles, including 18 tackles in their final game of the year.

So now after nine years in Cincinnati Marvin now has what he needs. He has his weapon.
