Aug 24, 2013; Arlington, TX, USA; Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green (18) on the field before the game against the Dallas Cowboys at AT
I need not remind Bengals fans of the 24-18 loss against the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday night. I apologize for doing so. I also apologize in advance for the following summary of the game. Or, at least the negative parts.
Marvin Jones fumbled inside Dallas’ 5-yard line. Andy Dalton threw an interception over the middle of the field. Cobi Hamilton fumbled following a great play call by Jay Gruden.
I think that pretty much sums it up. We should have won the game. However, it’s preseason, and some things are surely more important.
For instance, A.J. Green playing like A.J. Green.
Following a knee injury four weeks ago, the Bengals training staff kept Green off of the preseason field until they were positive he was ready to get back.
He demonstrated he was ready by catching three catches for 42 yards and impressing on yards after the catch, especially following a slant during the third quarter in which he reeled off 26 yards following the catch.
Here’s what the Bengals third-year star had to say about how he felt:
"“I felt good. I felt 100%. It’s great to be back out there. It seemed like a long time since I was hurt, but I knew I’d be back in plenty of time.”"
A.J., it’s good to have you back.
