The Cincinnati Bengals figure to be active in finding a replacement linebacker after Emmanuel Lamur went down with a shoulder injury last night that could sideline him from anywhere between a month to the entire 2013 NFL season.
They’re not apparently sold that the current crop of Maualuga, Burfict Harrison, Schaffer, Rey, DiManche and Dontay Moch (can play DE or LB) wouldn’t be enough to keep the Bengals’ defense among the NFL’s elite.
Moch has had a great preseason and the Bengals are trying to cash-in on that. Even with Lamur’s injury, don’t be surprised o see the Bengals give Moch up for a sixth-round draft pick. He’s shown a lot of promise, but his inability to stay healthy makes him a risky prospect. Injury, suspension and ineffectiveness have limited the 2011 third-rounder to a total of five career snaps. He’s not going to draw trade interest for anything more than another player on the roster bubble of a another team.
