Hamilton was drafted in the sixth-round this year after a standout career with the Arkansas Razorbacks.
As a senior last year, he lead the team in receptions (90) and receiving yards (1335). He set an SEC record last season for receiving yards in a game (303, vs. Rutgers).
He might have been the hardest player for the Bengals to sneak through to the practice squad, but since they appear to have done so, he’s a promising prospect who could very well get called up at some point this season.
It’s also worth pointing out that Brandon Tate and Dane Sanzenbacher, who beat-out Hamilton for a roster spot, as well as Andrew Hawkins, become free agents next year.
So if Hamilton can at least remain on the PS until then, there’s potentially three spots right there for him to make the 53-man next year.
