After waiting months for football action to resume, football fans are waiting for just a little longer.

An indefinite delay has been declared in Denver due to lightning in the surrounding area.  Initially, it was called a 15 minute delay, but was pushed to 20, and it is now unclear when the game will be able to get underway as the weather fluctuates on the Doppler radar.

They are waiting for confirmation from New York to be able to start.  Until then, fans will have to wait a bit longer before kickoff.

The football season begins with two AFC juggernauts, and holds special meaning for both teams.

For the Ravens, it is their chance to begin defending their title as Champion against another AFC team that many have listed as their favorite to go to represent the conference on the big stage this year.

For the Broncos, the start of the season brings their best shot at revenge for a game-ending collapse in the divisional round last year as Jacoby Jones caught the game-tying touchdown with under a minute to go.

The delay seems almost fitting as the suspense builds.
